1775 – The British begin the siege of Boston (sound familiar?)
1853 – Harriet Tubman starts the Underground Railroad
1862 – The first pasteurization test is completed by Louis Pasteur and Claude Bernard
1902 – Marie & Pierre Curie isolate the radioactive element radium chloride
1912 – Fenway Park officially opens, Red Sox beat NY Highlanders 7-6 in 11 innings
