1878 – The US Supreme court rules that race separation on trains is unconstitutional

1960 – The US Army promotes Elvis Presley to Sergeant
1966 – David Bowie releases his 1st record (Can’t Help Thinking About Me)
1967 – 20,000 people attend a Human Be-In, in San Francisco…Ommm
1967 – The NY Times reports that the Army is conducting secret germ warfare experiments
1973 – Grateful Dead bass player, Phil Lesh, got busted on drugs in California
1976 – Ted Turner becomes CEO of the Atlanta Braves
1981 – Here’s a real Doozie: The FCC frees stations to air as many commercials an hour as they wish
1989 – A 29 year old French woman gives birth to sextuplets in Paris
1990 – “The Simpsons” premiered on Fox-TV
2004 – The national flag of Georgia, the so-called “five cross flag”, was restored to official use after a hiatus of some 500 years
2012 – Ma Ying-jeou wins re-election as President of the Republic of China with 51% of the vote
